Bulk creation of sub-projects tasks within a tranche

This section outlines the procedure for creating sub-projects tasks in bulk within a given tranche by means of a CSV file.

Warning

Your account must have Tranche Manager permissions to perform this operation. You can check that in your user profile section.

Follow the steps below to complete the process.

Prepare a sub-projects tasks CSV file

Write FFPlus sub-project IDs, tasks numbers and tasks descriptions in an Excel file as per the screenshot, and save it in UTF-8 CSV format.

You can also prepare the CSV manually in a notepad.

Tasks IDs will be of the form NNNN-TXX, with NNNN being the FFPlus sub-project ID and XX the task number specified in the CSV file.

Warning

  • The server expects a file with Project, Number and Description columns.

  • The file should include one row per sub-project task.

  • Please do not use commas or semicolons in data to prevent parsing errors.

Find the destination tranche

Access the app as a tranche manager, go to the desired tranche and click Add sub-projects tasks in bulk on the left side menu.

Select a CSV to preview the action and confirm

In the form that appears, select the CSV you have created on your computer. Check that tasks entries in the table are OK and if you agree confirm their creation by clicking the “Upload tasks file” button.

Note

You can select another file and the preview will be regenerated. If you have made corrections in the same file you initially chose and have kept the name, first clean the preview with “Clean table” and then choose again the same file already corrected.

If the upload is successful, a confirmation message will appear.

Check the result

Now all the uploaded tasks will appear in the “Tasks” menu of the corresponding sub-project.
